Last updated: October 16, 2026
The information on recoveryourproperty.org is intended to explain independent recovery assistance offered by William Webster in California. It is general information and does not constitute legal, tax, financial, or government advice.
Independent service
Recover Your Property is not a government agency and is not employed by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the California State Controller's Office. William Webster has confirmed that his investigator registration information is on file with the office. This is not a state-issued investigator license or a government endorsement.
You can claim for free
Property owners are not required to use an investigator. California provides a free search and claiming process.
Service terms and fees
Services, if retained, are governed by a separate written investigator agreement compliant with applicable California requirements. The stated standard recovery fee is 10% of property successfully returned under that agreement. No recovery service fee is requested in advance. This website does not itself establish an investigator-client agreement.
No guarantee
Property listings may contain common names or incomplete details. A possible match does not establish legal ownership or a right to payment. The appropriate government agency decides claims based on the supporting evidence. Results and timing are not guaranteed.
Accuracy and official sources
We aim to provide accurate general information, but procedures and requirements may change. For the most authoritative guidance, consult the State Controller's Office and its current instructions and forms.
Outside links
Links to government websites are supplied as a convenience and do not imply a partnership with those agencies.
